The hockey club was contacted by organizers back in January to see if Holland could take part in the torch relay. When the chance presented itself, it was an easy yes.
The first person he told about the relay? His mom.
As it turns out, he's not the first in his family to have a connection to the Pan Am Games.
"My sister used to ride for Canada in dressage," said Holland. "She had an opportunity to qualify for the Pan Am Games."
The torch relay will be just the latest in a long list of community events Holland has taken part in.
