Tonight there will be a moment of silence before every game played in the NHL, as there was this afternoon in Philadelphia. This is the sentiment that spoke most to me about playing or watching or loving the game, today of all days:
Loved Flames coach Glen Gulutzan's response this a.m. re: Humboldt tragedy and how he expected his team to perform: "We’re playing for the purity of the game, for the love of the game, because that’s what those kids did.”

In that spirit, we recognize the pain and heartbreak of the day, but also the love of the game.
