Dmytro Timashov, the Surprise at Toronto Maple Leafs Camp

Timashov is looking to snag a roster spot on the Toronto Maple Leafs. The rookie is entering the final year of his entry-level contract and it could be perfect timing.

The 22-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Toronto Marlies, putting up 107 points in 202 games. He’s good at protecting the puck and he’s defensively sound.

That’s not what coach, Mike Babcock likes though, “to me, he’s not a tall body, but he’s a thick body.” Just what Babcock likes, a “thick body”.

However, there’s one part of Timashov’s game that Babcock would like to see improved, “his biggest area of concern is when he gets it, sometimes he turns it over too much.
