The Caps held on for a 4-3 victory in Washington Wednesday evening.
The Leafs started strong, and ended strong, but hurt their own chances for a win with a horrible second period. They gave up three straight goals in a 1:18 minute span, which sunk the team.
Scoring for the Leafs was Kapanen, Mikheyev, and Tavares. Michael Hutchinson stopped 28 shots in the loss.
The next Leafs action is Saturday evening when they host the Bruins.
