Minten represents a fun change of pace for this year’s Top 25 Under 25 list. He is the first player on this list who we can legitimately say has a chance to be an impact NHL player.
For most of the other players we’ve ranked before this, there’s been a similar conversation around certain type of players. They are all players who were/are very good in their respective junior or European leagues, but who have the same general projection as long shots to make the NHL. They may be offensive leaders now, but they’re going to have to learn how to play less offensive roles to carve out roles in the bottom six.
