In the words of Andrew Shaw, "That's hockey."
In Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, there was a scrum. Tiny little agitator Shaw thought that Victor Hedman was gunning for Patrick Kane, and decided to get all protective.
"He went after one of our better players," Shaw said. "That creates the scrums. We're just battling out there. I expect battles with him in front of the net the rest of the series, as well."
Hedman said that his own impetus was to protect Bishop from getting abused by Kane. Hedman hit Kane into the boards after Kane attempted to dig a puck out of Bishop's glove.
