The Toronto Maple Leafs are likely to be one of the primary sellers before the February 29th NHL Trade Deadline, with a host of key names reportedly on the block with just under two weeks to go.
One player who's already come to terms with a potential trade is defenseman Roman Polak. Polak saw the potential writing on the wall before the 2015-16 NHL season even got underway.
“It’s 50-50,” Polak said Wednesday when asked if he believed he'd remain a Leaf after the deadline, via Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun.
“I’m not worried about it right now, but I’m always ready for (the possibility). Even before the season started I knew it might happen. If it does, it does. If not, then not. It’s part of the business.” More Maple Leafs trade rumors and news inside the Chat Sports iPhone and Android apps!
Other names who could be headed out of town before the deadline include James Reimer, Nazem Kadri, P.A. Parenteau, Nick Spaling, Brad Boyes and Shawn Matthias.
Per the Hockey Buzz, the San Jose Sharks, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Nashville Predators have all expressed interest in James Reimer. However, the 27-year-old goalie is one of the few prime candidates for a contract extension on the Leafs' roster, and could be untouchable before the deadline.
