Valeri Scores Late as Portland Timbers Edge Toronto FC

It was a close match, but it was Portland who ultimately took their chances for a big home victory.

Toronto FC's season-ending road trip ended on a sour note today with a 2-1 loss to the Portland Timbers. The loss was the club's first in three matches and continues their losing streak at Providence Park in Portland.

Diego Valeri scored the winning goal from a late free kick after the team's traded first half goals. Will Johnson scored the lone Toronto FC goal while Fanendo Adi opened the scoring for Portland.

The Portland Timbers would end Toronto FC's shutout streak at 273 minutes early in the first half.
