Toronto FC announced today that they have re-signed midfielder Marky Delgado to a multi-year extension. The 21-year-old American has spent the past two seasons with Toronto FC. The terms of the deal were not released.
The club acquired Delgado in the fourteenth round of the Chivas USA dispersal draft in 2014. At the time, it was seen as a surprise that Toronto was able to acquire a player of his quality that late in the draft, especially since seven teams had already passed on their picks.
Two years later, and Delgado is likely the best player to have come out of that draft.
