The dust has hardly settled on Toronto FC’s 2017 season, but with next year’s pre-season about six weeks away, there’s no time to waste when it comes to the business side of the game.
About 24 hours after the Reds clinched the club’s first MLS Cup crown, the league named 13 Toronto players who will be up for grabs in Tuesday afternoon’s expansion draft.
The league’s 23rd franchise, Los Angeles FC, will get its start in 2018, coached by Bob Bradley, father of Reds captain Michael Bradley. This week, the newly minted club will have the chance to select five players from a list of 309 eligible from across the league.
