TFC Wins First-Ever Match in Chicago over the Fire

Jozy Altidore scores one and sets up Jonathan Osorio for the other in road result

Back from a lengthy international break, Toronto FC returned to their winning ways with a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois on Saturday night.

Chicago got the better of the early chances, with Michael de Leeuw and John Goossens causing some trouble, but Toronto responded well, nearly snatching the opener in the 13th minute when Tosaint Ricketts rose up to meet a right-sided Michael Bradley free-kick, only to send his header wide of the far-post.

A combination between Marky Delgado and Jozy Altidore almost led to a goal in the 28th minute, Delgado lifting a ball over the top for Altidore down the right, but his shot/cross whistled through the six-yard box, beyond the stretch of Jonathan Osorio.
