TFC will take team approach to replacing injured Giovinco’s offence

The MLS MVP is out four weeks with quadriceps and adductor injuries.

Everyone will have to contribute with TFC star Sebastian Giovinco, left, injured, but much of the load will fall on Jozy Altidore, second from left, who has five goals in his last seven games.

As Major League Soccer’s reining most valuable player — and the frontrunner to scoop the award again this year — Sebastian Giovinco is about as close to irreplaceable as an individual player can be.

But Toronto FC is now forced to face the challenge of winning without him; the striker was ruled out for four weeks Monday with strains in his quadriceps and adductor.
