Sebastian Giovinco has picked up where he left off last year, with four points in his first two games, a win and a draw for Toronto FC. But the MLS’s reigning Golden Boot holder expects more.
“The team can improve, can play even better. That’s the goal,” Giovinco said through a translator this week.
Giovinco could get help when Toronto visits Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, with the potential return of striker Jozy Altidore, now recovered from a hamstring injury that has delayed his 2016 debut. Together, the two forwards scored or assisted on 48 of the Reds’ 58 goals last season.
