SEATTLE—If Toronto FC coach Greg Vanney never has to answer another question about striker Jozy Altidore’s status for Sunday’s MLS Cup final it will be too soon.
The Reds touched down in Seattle on Thursday and the American striker, rehabbing a quadriceps strain, was front and centre at a press conference that night.
“I haven’t played any soccer in a month,” Altidore said. “So that’s where I’m at.”
That assessment didn’t move the needle, so Vanney was peppered with questions during Friday’s training session — where the coach made it clear he’d had his fill of the storyline.
