Toronto FC is up another defender after acquiring Iranian international Steven Beitashour from the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday.
It’s the club’s second addition to the backline in nearly as many days, after announcing the acquisition of free agent Drew Moor, a natural centre-back, on Wednesday.
“Toronto FC is a club that definitely caused teams around MLS to take notice last season and I’m looking forward to the chance to help take the club to the next level,” the right-back said in a release.
In exchange for Beitashour, the Reds sent the Whitecaps a second-round draft pick at the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.
