St Johnstone midfielder David Wotherspoon could be set to follow in Scott Arfield’s footsteps by switching his international allegiance from Scotland to Canada.
Like Arfield, the right winger was born in Scotland but is eligible to play for Canada through a parent - in this case his mother - according to a report first published in the Courier and then replicated in the Scottish Sun.
The Sun states that Canada Soccer are hoping to have the paperwork done in time to include Wotherspoon in the squad to face Curacao in June, putting him in contention for a place at the Gold Cup.
