Major League Soccer announced all its All-Star Game participants today, and Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco has been included. The All-Stars will take on Serie A champions Juventus on August 1, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Although Seba wasn’t chosen via fan voting (partially because the fan voters picked mostly Atlanta United players), All-Star coach Tata Martino decided to include the Italian, perhaps partially because of his connection to the All-Star Game opponents.
Giovinco played 93 games for Juve, the club he grew up at. He climbed up through the youth system there in his hometown of Turin, eventually joining the first team.
