Toronto FC confirmed today that assistant coach Robin Fraser will be departing the club, having accepted an offer to become the new head coach of the Colorado Rapids.
Fraser was part of TFC’s coaching staff under Greg Vanney since January 2015, meaning he was part of the club’s treble-winning campaign in 2017. He came to Toronto to work under Vanney, who had previously been Fraser’s assistant at Chivas USA.
The 52-year-old former defender (with 74 caps for the Rapids and a further 93 for the pre-MLS Colorado Foxes) has worked on the staff of four MLS teams, including TFC, Chivas USA (as head coach), New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake (both as an assistant).
