TORONTO, Canada—As if Tuesday night’s opening leg match against Cruz Azul—who are currently in first place overall in Liga MX—wasn’t a sizable task enough, Toronto FC will have to make it through the opening 90 minutes without the reigning MVP Alejandro Pozuelo as well as arguably their MVP so far this season Richie Laryea.
According to OneSoccer’s Oliver Platt, both Laryea and Pozuelo were left off Toronto FC’s 23-man match roster vs. Cruz Azul, along with a few other names.
- Richie Laryea (suspension)
- Alejandro Pozuelo (right thigh)
- Liam Fraser (left ankle)
- Erickson Gallardo (right groin)
- Achara (ACL/LCL)
- Julian Dunn (hip)
- Jordan Perruzza (undisclosed)
For context, clubs must provide their 23-player final match roster (with a minimum of 18) to Concacaf no later than 44 hours prior to each match kickoff.
