TORONTO, Ont.,—Canada pulled off a major upset on Tuesday night, dominating the United States for a well-earned 2-0 victory, their first over the United States in over 30 years.
Canada were forced to make an early substitution, as Mark-Anthony Kaye suffered a hamstring injury within the first 10 minutes. He was replaced by TFC midfielder Liam Fraser, who earned his first senior cap for Canada in the process.
The home side’s best chance of the first half came in the 16th minute, as Jonathan David fired wide of the American goal after creating a wonderful opportunity for himself.
