Well, it’s certainly not over. Toronto FC beat Tigres UANL 2-1 at BMO Field on Wednesday in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal matchup. The Reds will head down to Mexico next Tuesday to try and pull out the tie in Monterrey.
It was a fairly entertaining match, with both sides showing quality. TFC went down early-ish in the second half, when Eduardo Vargas came streaking into the box and finished with a lot of quality.
The Reds weren’t done then, though. Jozy Altidore came up big not long later to level the tie at one goal apiece, and Jonathan Osorio scored the goal of his life in the dying minutes to give TFC the lead.
