Penalty box snafu forces Three Stooges-like fix at TFC-Impact game

Playoff match delayed 40 minutes after officials found markings on the field at Olympic Stadium were too small.

Impact grounds crew race to paint over lines for the penalty box that was too narrow at the MLS playoff game between TFC and Montreal Impact at Olympic Stadium in Montreal on Tuesday.

MONTREAL—It was human error, the Montreal Impact said. If so, it was a head-scratcher.

Game 1 of the MLS Eastern Conference final between Montreal and Toronto FC was delayed 40 minutes Tuesday night after match officials found the penalty box markings on the field at Olympic Stadium were too small.
