Jozy Altidore’s hat trick leads TFC to third straight Canadian Championship crown

If all else fails for Toronto FC this year, the Reds will at least be going back to the CONCACAF Champions League come the beginning of the 2019 season.

A dominant 5-2 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps in the second match of the two-legged Canadian Championship final secured Toronto’s spot in next year’s tournament. The Reds won 7-4 on aggregate, after tying 2-2 in British Columbia last Wednesday.

It was a rough night for the Vancouver Whitecaps and forward Alphonso Davies, leaping past Toronto FC defender Justin Morrow. Toronto built a 4-0 lead in the first 50 minutes.
