TORONTO, Canada—With another weekend of European football comes the latest milestone for Canadian soccer.
Janine Beckie scored at Wembley on Sunday afternoon in the Women’s FA Cup Final to help Manchester City get past Everton 3-1.
Beckie’s extra time finish not only sealed the victory for her side but the 26-year-old also became the first Canadian to score in an FA Cup Final, male or female.
City have dominated the competition in recent memory, winning two straight and three of the past four FA Cups.
