Dom Dwyer has played on some successful teams over 10 seasons in Major League Soccer, but the Toronto FC outfit he joined this week may be the best yet.
That was the message TFC’s newest forward delivered to his teammates on Thursday, two days after the 30-year-old signed a two-year contract, coach Chris Armas said.
“That’s a big statement, considering where he came from,” said Armas, noting Sporting Kansas City won an MLS Cup and Eastern Conference crown with Dwyer in 2013, as well as the U.S. Open Cup in 2012 and 2015.
Dwyer’s goals were clear even before his first appearance for the Reds, which could come Saturday at New York City FC.
