Toronto FC confirmed this morning that they’ve signed goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell, who spent last season with the Jacksonville Armada of the NASL. This news comes after we learned that Patterson-Sewell was training with TFC in preseason, travelling with the team to Los Angeles and Mexico.
The Reds had to acquire Patterson-Sewell’s MLS rights from the New York Red Bulls, giving up a fourth-round Superdraft pick in 2019. The Red Bulls signed him in 2008, but he never played for them, instead hanging around the lower leagues of American soccer. He has jumped around from club to club for most of his career, also spending a few years in Portugal with Atletico CP, Vitoria Setubal, Gil Vicente, and Farense.
