Toronto FC got back in the win column with a strong showing in a 3-1 victory over Orlando City on Wednesday night.
The Reds’ Jozy Altidore opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Sebastian Giovinco scored the final two goals for TFC, in the 46th and 65th minutes.
Carlos Rivas notched Orlando City’s lone marker.
With the Gold Cup break at hand, Toronto FC’s next MLS game is July 19 on the road at New York City FC.
In other Reds’ news, fullback Steven Beitashour, injured in a collision with Montreal’s Kyle Fisher in the Canadian championship finale June 27, has been released from hospital.
