Jordan Hamilton held up two hands, one with two fingers raised, and another with three. It was a dual celebration, one part for what was already his second goal of the 2019 season, and another his 23rd birthday.
It’s often easy to forget that the Scarborough, Ont. native is only 23. After all, he’s been with the club for what feels like forever. To this point, it has still never worked out fully, like on Saturday, he has shown flashes, but has still been unable to break through consistently.
It’s a story that has played itself out for the vast majority of Toronto FC’s academy products, for a team more than happy to spend money to improve its roster.
