On paper it seems like more of the same. Canada has, for the most part, cruised through Concacaf Nations League qualifiers. A meeting with 12th place French Guiana, who aren’t even an official FIFA nation, isn’t expected to offer much more resistance.
But there is still a lot on the line. While Canada basically has a spot in the Gold Cup wrapped up already, a win would all but assure them a spot in League A of Nations League proper.
However, it’s also a big opportunity for John Herdman to get a look at all of his key players prior to this summer’s Gold Cup.
