Toronto, Ont — For the first time since 2015, Toronto FC can no longer claim to be the kings of Canada. Sure, they are almost certainly the only Canadian team who will qualify for the MLS Cup playoffs this year, but it will be the Montreal Impact who fly the Canadian flag in continental competition this year.
The 1-1 (3-1) shootout loss couldn’t have come at a worse time for the reds as they were building momentum at the most important time of the year. The club now has to rebound quickly in hope of starting this year’s playoffs at home.
