The first trade of Drew Moor’s career, from his hometown club FC Dallas to the Colorado Rapids midway through the 2009 Major League Soccer season, came as a shock to the native of Texas.
Moor was the longest-tenured play in Dallas at the time. Born and raised in the city, he had been at the club almost five seasons — ever since he was picked sixth overall in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. He was a regular starter. Then, out of the blue, came a tap on the shoulder. He was on a plane the next day, starting for a new team in a new state three days later.
