Canada Soccer announced today that the Canadian women’s national team will take on Brazil at Ottawa’s TD Place Stadium on Sunday, September 2.
Canada, who placed fifth in FIFA’s latest women’s international rankings, will be taking on a familiar foe in seventh-ranked Brazil. The two sides met most recently in the bronze medal match of the Rio 2016 Olympics, which Canada won 2-1 on the back of goals from Deanne Rose and Christine Sinclair.
This friendly is intended to be a good tune-up for Canada as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup qualifying cycle, which will begin in October with the CONCACAF Women’s Championships.
