BREAKING: Toronto FC II withdraw from 2020 USL League One season

BRAMPTON, Canada—Toronto FC II announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have withdrawn from the 2020 USL League One season.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the restrictions in place because of it, the club and league decided that playing in 2020 wouldn't make sense.

As the only Canadian team in the league, clubs would have to - under the current measures in place - quarantine for 14 days every time they enter the country. That isn't feasible and is likely a major factor in the decision.

As part of the club statement, the club also signalled their intent on returning for the 2021 season.
