Toronto FC announced today that they’ve released forward Ben Spencer, who has also cleared waivers. He’s played twice for the Reds this season, plus a further four times for TFC II in the USL.
Spencer, 23 years old, joined TFC II in 2015 before the club promoted him to an MLS contract in May 2017. He originally came into the organization on loan from Norwegian club Molde, before the Reds acquired his MLS rights from Real Salt Lake.
After 17 total appearances at the USL level and just one goal (in 2017) to show for it, it seems that Spencer may be done at TFC.
