TORONTO, Canada—As our friends at RSL Soapbox pointed out, if you thought today was going to be normal, it’s been anything but.
Dell Loy Hansen, the owner of MLS club Real Salt Lake, joined a local radio station (that he owns) and proceeded to make a flurry of egregious remarks this morning following yesterday’s protests from MLS players over racial injustice.
From stating that his players abandoned the club and suggesting he’ll invest less as a result to comparing the players boycott to being stabbed, the RSL owner’s comments were extremely ignorant and anything but progressive.
