The Internet has been ablaze this week with discussion surrounding former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's new ad campaign with Nike. Unexpectedly, the latest video released by the company has a connection to Canadian soccer.
Vancouver Whitecaps, Canadian men’s national team, and soon-to-be Bayern Munich starlet Alphonso Davies appears in the ad, which is narrated by Kaepernick.
“If you're born a refugee, don't let it stop you from playing soccer for the national team at age 16,” says Kaepernick. Davies was born in a refugee camp in Ghana to parents who were fleeing a civil war in Liberia.
