Toronto FC have announced that goalkepeer Alex Bono has signed a contract extension with the club.
Bono had previously been mentioned in transfer rumours as recently as a few weeks ago, as it seemed that Belgian side Club Brugge was interested in his signature. Those rumours have been put to rest for now, though, as Bono has committed to the MLS side.
The MLS Players’ Union’s salary database listed Bono’s guaranteed compensation at $102,000 with TFC. It’s unclear whether or not he’s received a raise as part of this new contract, although that might make sense (I believe his previous deal was fairly standard for players graduating from Generation Adidas).
