Sometime between now and the beginning of the baseball’s post-season, it is all but certain that an announcement will be made, indicating that Anthopoulos will return — as he should — as general manager of the Blue Jays.
It should be certain, but to date there is no agreement. And no one will say why.
Paul Beeston’s contract expires as club president on October 31, which is mid-way through the World Series. He won’t be making this deal. New president Mark Shapiro isn’t expected to be in office until after that.
