TORONTO -- The Blue Jays placed shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the 15-day disabled list Saturday morning with a right quadriceps strain.
Tulowitzki missed two games earlier this week with the injury, but he returned Friday night for a series opener against Boston. The following day, the tightness continued to linger and Toronto opted to make the roster move.
Left-hander Aaron Loup was activated from the 15-day disabled list to take Tulowitzki's spot on the roster. Loup had been out for the first seven weeks of the season with a strained flexor tendon in his left elbow.
