TORONTO -- Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was forced to leave Friday night's game against the Angels in the bottom of the third inning after he appeared to roll his right ankle while running to first base.
Tulowitzki was trying to beat out a ground ball when his right foot made contact with the foot of Angels first baseman C.J. Cron. That caused Tulowitzki to roll his ankle as he touched down on the base, and he immediately fell to the ground.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons and the training staff ran onto the field to check on Tulowitzki.
