Tulo begins Blue Jays tenure in leadoff spot

TORONTO -- John Gibbons hasn't been one to shy away from non-traditional lineups throughout his managerial career, and never was that more evident than when he inserted Troy Tulowitzki into the leadoff spot for his Blue Jays debut on Wednesday night against the Phillies.

It didn't take long for the ball to find Tulowitzki, who recorded the first out of the game on Ben Revere's grounder. In the bottom of the first inning, after receiving a rousing ovation from the Rogers Centre crowd, Tulowitzki struck out in his first at-bat against Jerome Williams.
