TORONTO -- Devon Travis was forced to leave Sunday afternoon's game against the Braves in the first inning because of a bruised left rib.
Travis was struck by a pitch in his left rib cage area while leading off for Toronto against right-hander Shelby Miller. Travis initially remained in the game, but he was lifted for a pinch-runner after he dove back to first base on a pickoff attempt.
Utility infielder Steve Tolleson entered the game and took over for Travis at second base. Tolleson likely would be the logical candidate to start at second if Travis is required to miss additional time.
