According to Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet, the Toronto Blue Jays have designated outfielder Derek Fisher for assignment. The move is long overdue although a little surprising seeing most felt that newcomer Joel Payamps would be the roster casualty to free up a spot for David Phelps.
The Blue Jays acquired Fisher at the 2019 trade deadline from the Houston Astros in exchange for Aaron Sanchez, Joe Biagini and Cal Stevenson.
