According to a team announcement, the Blue Jays have designated IF/OF Alen Hanson for assignment, selecting the contract of Derek Law from the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons.
This announcement comes less than 24 hours after Hanson made a ghastly defensive error in Los Angeles against the Angels, allowing a simple single to turn into an Andrelton Simmons triple.
Hanson, 26, was acquired by the Blue Jays from the San Francisco Giants in the Kevin Pillar trade and has appeared in 18 games, slashing .163/.229/.163 in 43 at-bats, including 17 strikeouts, three walks, and seven hits amounting to seven total bases.
