Little League has a big problem on its hands.
A team from Washington state competing in the Little League Softball World Series on Monday in Portland, Ore., reportedly benched its best players and bunted its way to a no-hit 8-0 defeat in a tournament involving girls aged 12 and 13.
Their motive for throwing the game? It would appear they wanted to screw over an opponent.
“It's clear to everyone that they basically threw the game,” Chris Chadd, president of Central Iowa Little League, said of South Snohomish Little League, according to the Des Moines Register.
