NEW YORK -- Marcus Stroman made a triumphant return to the mound on Saturday night, with five strong innings against the Yankees in his first appearance of the season.
Stroman allowed three runs on four hits while walking two and striking out a pair in a 10-7 victory over the Yankees. He threw 48 of his 78 pitches for strikes and was going to return for a sixth inning before his start was cut short due to a 33-minute rain delay.
The outing was a major step in the right direction for a player who was once ruled out for the season because of a torn ACL in his left knee.
