Jose Bautista had a big day at the plate Monday with a homer, double and single, driving in three runs, but he also made some progress on the injury front, able to engage in a light game of catch with trainer George Poulis for the first time in nearly a month.
“I can’t be too pessimistic about it,” said Bautista. “It’s a work in progress. There’s not very much to report on it. It was just a light throwing session, very short distance, very minimal effort. Just trying to get the motion down. That will start the progression, so we’ll see how it goes.
