Sanchez going to bullpen, Jays can chase starting pitcher now

The news came at the end of John Gibbons post-game interview and as an aside.

“Oh, we’re going to bring (Aaron) Sanchez up sometime this week,” Gibbons announced. “He’s going to pitch out of the bullpen.”

Come again?

Thus ends all the will-he-or-won’t-he analysis of the Jays current pitching woes and speculation of just where to place Sanchez upon his return from a lat injury that has sidelined him since June 6.

Last season, Sanchez arrived July 23 and pitched strictly out of the bullpen, although he was a starter in the minor leagues.

It was a measure to protect his innings.
