ANAHEIM -- The Blue Jays lost not one, but two, starting pitchers on Saturday afternoon as Aaron Sanchez and Jaime Garcia were placed on the 10-day disabled list.
Sanchez hit the DL with a contusion on his right index finger, while Garcia is dealing with a "tender" shoulder. As expected, right-hander Marcus Stroman was activated from the DL and started Saturday night vs. the Angels, and lefty Tim Mayza also was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.
The news on Sanchez hardly comes as a surprise after the 25-year-old was forced to leave Thursday's start after one inning because of the injury.
