TORONTO - When the game was over and the heat of the moment had passed, Josh Donaldson suggested there was no real bad blood between the Blue Jays and Royals.
He may want to rethink that assessment once he’s reviewed Edinson Volquez’s comments.
In the first inning Sunday, Royals starter Volquez plunked Donaldson with an inside fastball. Umpire Jim Wolf thought it was intentional and so did Donaldson. Volquez got a warning.
“There are absolutely no quarrels between this team and that team,” said Donaldson. “There’s a warning given out after he hit me in the first at-bat.
